On August 30th, 2018, Clark County Community Planning conducted the first of only two open houses related to Freight Dependent Use. The Presentation includes a general description of the what FRDU is, proposed overlay at initial implementation, and desired expansion of FRDU.
Community Planning provided a Handout to open house attendees which was a condensed version of the contents of the July 18, 2018 County Council work Session. Provided are Q and A of questions asked at this Open House. An Audio recording of the open hous for some reason has been deleted or link has been changed.
The above links of Board Meetings, Maps and Photos are many of the documents included in the handout. One exception are the photos on the last page showing examples the types we can expect from FRDU. Coalition for Sustainable Land Management does not believe we need these industries replacing agricultural land or being placed next to rural neighborhood development.
Lastly over 90 comment cards were received at this Open House and can be found in Attendee Questions. These cards are a particularly good read and clearly expresses the sentiment of Greater Brush Prairie. As mentioned earlier a number of other neighborhoods are impacted by FRDU but for the most part not represented at this Open House. Below are a couple of great comment cards from the meeting:
Should the county make money from the railroad at our expense?
Who does the government work for? The People or The Railroad?
